A Little Bit About Us…

We began in 2013 as The Domesticated Dad Brown Bag School Lunch Delivery Service – it was born on a whim one night when our kiddos were talking about school lunch, and Lulu said, “Nothing beats Daddy’s lunches!!” When the Little Man agreed, we decided to post something on Facebook just to see if anyone was interested in ordering, and when we received positive responses, we went for it! And so began late nights in the commercial kitchen for Michael and early morning deliveries for me {Jenn}, and a family business we all love {and are so grateful for} was born!!

Michael has been in the food industry forever ~ he is a trained butcher, seasoned caterer, and just plain old loves feeding people. The funny thing is, I always referred to him as “The Domesticated Dad” because he really is, from cooking food to folding laundry to working on the playground at recess! And so, it naturally became the name of our company.

Here’s a little more about us ~

Michael Young {aka The Domesticated Dad} is as experienced as they come! Check it out:

– grew up in the kitchen

– trained at Johnson & Wales University

– held almost every position there is in the kitchen

– has been catering in the NJ tri-state area for over 20 years

– loves food almost as much as football

– married, father of 2 little chefs-to-be, easy going, and fun

He has one rule when it comes to cooking – there are no rules!!!

IMG_1016And me, Jenn {Mike’s wife who clearly has a kraft brown obsession} I’m a writer + entrepreneur at heart! Here’s a little more:

– I love words. and stories. and people. and learning. and grace {we all need it some days!}.

– married {duh}, mother of 2 precious gifts from God who are my 2 greatest teachers

– I know we all have a gift, a talent, and believe using it to serve the world plugs us in to life

– I am a total foodie, and since I married a guy who loves to make food, often find myself in foodie heaven!!

My favorite rule ~ be kind and love one another, ’cause we’re all facing some sort of battle, we never know what that might be…

It is an honor to serve each and every one of our brown bag lunchers and their families!!!
